Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) has been treating gynecology and women's health for close to 5000 years. Tuina massage was used to treat gynecological conditions during the Shang Dynasty, according to inscriptions on made on tortoise shells. Herbal medicine was used to treat infertility as found in ancient medical texts such as the Journal of Mountains and Sees, formulated in 475 BC. The canon of TCM, the Huang Di Nei Jing, describes treatment for amenorrhea (absence of menstruation) and menorrhagia (heavy or long periods); it attributes women's reproductive changes to certain points on the meridians.

At East West Physicians, we follow the philosophy of Traditional Chinese medicine that every woman is unique and special.
